Who runs this site: edfenergysaver is owned and operated by Guy Darbyshire, a UK-based individual. Not a company, not incorporated, not registered with Companies House.

Relationship to EDF Energy Ltd: None, officially. Guy is an existing EDF domestic customer using EDF’s public Refer a Friend scheme — a benefit EDF offers all existing customers. Not employed by, contracted to, endorsed by, or an official partner of EDF Energy Ltd. All EDF trademarks belong to EDF Energy Ltd.

How money is earned: Every time a new EDF customer switches through our Refer a Friend link and completes their first bill, EDF credits £50 to Guy’s EDF account. That’s the only revenue. No Google Ads, no other affiliate links, no sponsored posts, no email list monetisation, no data sales. You (as the new customer) also receive £50 in bill credit — paid separately by EDF.

Referral link identification: Every link that goes to EDF’s website opens in a new tab (target="_blank") and is marked as sponsored/nofollow (rel="sponsored nofollow noopener"). Complies with UK ASA and CAP Code guidance on affiliate disclosure.

Third-party services: Google Analytics 4 for aggregate page traffic (IP anonymisation on, 2-month retention). Google Search Console for search visibility. Hostinger as hosting provider (standard web server logs, 30-day retention).

Cookies: Only strictly-necessary cookies. The EDF Refer a Friend cookie is set by EDF’s own domain when you click through, subject to EDF’s cookie and privacy policies.
